Carlota Álvarez Basso

Director

Álvarez Basso has held management positions in several Spanish cultural institutions for more than 25 years. She created and directed for 9 years the Film and Video Department of the Reina Sofía National Museum of Contemporary Art. In the last decade she was General Director of Planning and Evaluation at the City Council of Madrid, where she established the PECAM 2013-2020 (Strategic Culture Plan by the City Council of Madrid). From January 2013 to January 2018 she managed Matadero Madrid, a cultural centre for contemporary creation under the authority of the City Council of MADRID. She currently works at the Reina Sofía National Museum of Contemporary Art as Head of Institutional Relations.

Diego Mas Trelles

Director

He is currently member of the Programming Committee at DocsBarcelona. He was the Programming Coordinator in the Festival DocumentaMadrid and the Festival of European Cinema in Seville, the Programmer in DocsBarcelona, Ronda Film Festival, Salinadoc Festival in Italy, 4 Écrans in Paris, and Punto de Vista in Pamplona. He was also Film Exhibits Curator (in Dirigido por Mujeres/Ellas Crean/Centro Conde Duque/Instituto de la Mujer; El objetivo indiscreto/Museo Patio Herreriano, Dalí and Cinema; West Indies and Caribbean Cinema/Huelva Film Festival; Finish Documentary/Cineteca) and the author of catalogues on cinema and video-art Coordinator in Vídeo bajo el volcán, located in Tenerife. Co-Programmer of documentary screenings at FNAC, Casa de América, Casa Encendida, Círculo de Bellas Artes, Documenta04 and Filmoteca Española. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Spanish Film Academy, and also member of the European Film Academy, SGAE, SACD and SCAM.

Elena Manrique Pascual

Member of the Programming Committee

She has worked in film acquisitions and programming at Canal+ and Cinemania. She worked in the Venice Days Selection Committee (Giornatti Degli Autori) at the Venice International Film Festival. She worked as Executive Producer in Telecinco Cinema and Vertigo Films in, among others, the following productions: Celda 211, El Laberinto del Fauno, Torremolinos 73, El Lobo, Casual Day, El rey de montaña, El Orfanato, The Oxford Murders, Rabia, La Vie d’Adèle, Kiki, el amor se hace. In 2011 she creates Film Fatal, and co-produces with 64-A Films (Colombia) Ciudad delirio. She is a lectrurer at the Camilo José Cela University in Madrid. She also works as an acquisitions adviser to INDIE SALES, a Paris-based international sales company.

María Angulo

Member of the Programming Committee

María Angulo worked in Film Purchases for Canal+ also at SOGECINE-SOGEPAQ, the merged production and distribution/sales company, she oversaw associated productions and development. She was Executive Producer in VÉRTICE 360 group. After leaving the group, she developed, as Executive Producer, and together with Pablo Alen and Breixo Corral, the film 3 bodas de más -3 many weddings- (Venice Film Festival. 7 Goya nominations and several international awards). She has also worked as Executive Producer for APACHES ENTERTAINMENT, ATRESMEDIA FILMS, CISKUL and Thinkstudio. She has been Production Controller for Banesto and Banca March on international projects such as: Clash of the Titans, Wrath of the Titans, Fast & Furious 6 and In the Heart of the Sea. In 2014 she launched Lolimax Films and co-produced Cuerpo de Élite, premiered in 2016, together with Ciskul, Antena 3 Films and MOD Producciones. As Executive Producer, María has participated in projects such as Verónica, directed by Paco Plaza, and the 3 seasons of the series Vergüenza, directed by Álvaro Fernández Armero and Juan Cavestany for Movistar+.

Sol Alonso

Host of the galas

Sol Alonso is a Spanish journalist, reporter, presenter, scriptwriter and editorial coordinator. She has worked on radio programmes for El País and Cadena Ser, among others. She has published in several newspapers and magazines such as Vogue or Elle and has worked for TV stations such as TVE 1. She has also directed the recording of several audiobooks for AUDIBLE. He currently writes for El Asombrario & CO, moderates cultural debates and other presentations of the cycle, Hay vida en Martes, as well as writing the annual report of Espacio Fundación Telefónica.

Alicia Morote

Music composer

Alicia Morote has a degree in Music Composition from the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid and a degree in Music Composition for Film, TV and Video Games from Berklee College of Music.
She has worked as a composer on "La Estrella Azul", directed by Javier Macipe; "Hadas", a short film by Beatriz de Silva, and "Un País en Danza", a series for La 2 de RTVE. In addition, Alicia has been orchestrator and music coach in films such as "Dolor y Gloria" and "Madres Paralelas" by Pedro Almodóvar, or "Centauro", by Daniel Calparsoro.
In 2018 she won 2nd prize at the 2018 International Film Music Competition in Montreal, and in 2022 she received the "VALE" award from Berklee College of Music in recognition of her professional excellence.
Alicia has recently orchestrated the Disney short film "The Descendants 3: The Royal Wedding" and won the Alfonso X de la Cultura Award in the "Other Music" category in 2023.
