Sinopsis
Fiction. Through hard work, Emmanuelle Blachey, a brilliant and voluntary engineer, has earned top position at the executive committee of Trident, the French leading energy company. Married for 20 years to a caring man, mother of 2 children, Emmanuelle’s success seems almost perfect. One day, a powerful and influential women network offers to help her become president of a CAC 40 company. But to be at the top, you must risk it all! In a men’s world, obstacles pile up in Emmanuelle’s professional and personal life.
After a first career as an actress, Tonie Marshall went on to direct in 1990 with Pentimento. In 1993, she created her own production company, Tabo Tabo Films, which allowed her to produce her films with greater freedom but also the first films of young authors, in order to bring out new talents.
The success of Venus Beauty (Institute) in 1999, with which she won 4 Césars including Best Director, continued with the creation in 2004 of the series Venus and Apollo, in co-production with Arte. In 2015, she went back to audiovisual production with Lucie Borleteau’s Series Cannabis, also in co-production with Arte.
During the 2000s, Tonie Marshall directed several films like Au plus proche du paradis, France Boutique and Passe-Passe. At the same time, she produced with Tabo Tabo Films Complices by Frédéric Mermoud and Ouf by Yann Coridian. In 2014, she got a new success with her comedy Tu veux ou tu veux pas, which cumulated more than a million entries in France. In 2016, she worked again with Frédéric Mermoud producing his latest film, Moka, which had some international success.
Her latest film Numéro Une, released in October 2017, tells the story of a brilliant and passionate engineer, embodied by Emmanuelle Devos, who, helped by a network of influential women, decides one day to conquer the head of a CAC40 company. Main Festivals and Awards: Nominated at the César Awards
