The Divine Order

Sinopsis

Fiction. In 1971 Swiss women still don’t have the right to vote. Nora is a young housewife and mother of two who lives in a small Swiss farming village. She is a quiet and popular person. When her husband forbids her to accept a part-time job her frustration makes her become the leader of the movement for women’s suffrage in her town. Her notoriety entails humiliation, threats and the possible end of her marriage, but she refuses to give up and convinces the rest of the, initially reluctant women, to go on strike, affecting the quiet lives of the village. Meanwhile, Nora will discover through her liberation unsuspected aspects of herself.
