Sinopsis
Ana is a young, well-educated Spanish woman from a traditional, middle-class family. She is about to finish her PhD in Law and get married but she doesn’t feel fulfilled. One day, a double (doppelganger) takes her place in life, dealing with all her responsibilities. Realizing for the first time that she is totally free, Ana decides to explore her new anonymity and freedom, testing her own limits and searching for the meaning of life, between a boarding-house and cabaret nights in Madrid: places full of people who, in some way, one day also decided to disappear. However, at one point routine also arrives to her new life and a question haunts her: Is it possible to ever run away from oneself?
Masters in Filmmaking at the ESCAC. BA in Audiovisual Communication at UCM. Graduated in Drama Studies at the William Layton Lab. Previously she has directed seven short films as The passing years will show (2013), S.E.D (2009), awarded as the Best Director of her prom by the UCM, and Some birds aren’t meant to be caged (2016). She also has created video-installations exhibited in national and international art centres and Spanish cultural institutions as the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome, where she was awarded with its prestigious grant during the year 2010-2011. Ana by day is her first feature film. It was commercially premiered in 2018 after being. She combines this job with her work as a History of Cinema lecturer in Central of Cinema in Madrid, Cinema Direction in TAI (Rey Juan Carlos University) and also Theory of Audiovisual Design in the European Institute of Design (IED).
