Sinopsis

Fiction. England 1959. Based on Penelope Fitzgerald’s acclaimed novel, The Bookshop is an elegant yet incisive rendering of personal resolve, tested in the battle for the soul of a community. Isabel Coixet

Isabel Coixet debuted as a director with Demasiado viejo para morir joven in 1989. With her second work, Things I Never Told You, the public and critics alike acclaimed her. Then she founded her own production company and produced her most acclaimed film to date, My Life Without Me. Since then she is one of the most recognized directors of Spanish cinema. The Secret Life of the Words, Elegy, Yesterday Never Ends, Another Me, Learning to drive, Nobody Wants the Night or The Bookshop have own her a place amongst the best in European Cinema.
