Sinopsis
From National Geographic Documentary Films, “The Protectors: Walk in the Ranger’s Shoes” chronicles a day in the life of a ranger in Garamba National Park. These rangers are often the last line of defense in a race against extinction at the hands of poachers slaughtering elephants for their ivory tusks.
Film director, scriptwriter and American producer, known for films such as Near Dark, Point Break and the Oscar winner The Hurt Locker. She is the first and only woman in history to win the Oscar for Best Director and the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directing Feature Film; both for The Hurt Locker. She received recognition in 1987 with the horror film Near Dark. Then, in 1991 she directed Point Break with was highly acclaimed by the critics and the audience. She has made films such as: Strange Days, The Weight of Water and K-19: The Widowmaker, where she directed some of the most important actors in Hollywood between 1995 and 2002.
