Nico

Sinopsis

Nico, a young geriatric nurse with Iranian roots, enjoys the summer in Berlin until one night she is beaten by three racist German youths and ends up in hospital. From that moment, her life is destroyed. The film brings us closer to the psychological consequences of violence and shows us how Nico goes through fear, anger and resignation.

Eline Gehring (Alemania)

Eline Gehring began her career as a camerawoman and German news editor in Paris, Prague, Kyiv and Berlin. She worked for the foreign broadcaster Deutsche Welle in Cairo. Between 2009 and 2010, Gehring made short films, documentaries and social advertisements for non-governmental organizations in South Africa. Back in Germany, Gehring directed more short films such as “Holly” (2016). At the same time, she studied Film Directing at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin (DFFB). “Nico” is her first feature film, for which the leading actress, Sara Fazilat, won the Best Young Actress Award twice.
