Sinopsis
Elaha is a young Kurdish-German woman torn between her unconditional love for her family and her own aspirations in life. What matters most to her is spending time with her friends and taking care of her younger brother, but she also wants to fight the patriarchy, while still being the perfect daughter. In the end, she will have to decide between telling the truth or having to run a life of deception. A psychological journey about emancipation that reveals that only by facing reality can we be true to ourselves.
Milena Aboyan is a Yazidi Kurd who was born in Armenia in 1992. In 2010 she began a four-year acting training program in Germany during which she participated in several theater productions. After graduating, she changed disciplines and focused on writing, working as a consultant for an ARD afternoon series. In 2015 she studied screenwriting at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. In 2019 she won the Emden Screenplay Award.
