Arnasa betean, emakume zinegileak (A pulmón, mujeres cineastas)
Sinopsis
This documentary celebrates the voice of women beginning to be heard in cinema. It stars Basque filmmakers of yesterday and today, which shows a universal vision of the subject. Three divers guide us through the theme of their films, their gaze, their dreams, their efforts to get ahead and, above all, their contribution to cinema and society. We will discover the pioneers, and we will be surprised by the works of veteran filmmakers or young people who are succeeding at festivals.
Bertha Gaztelumendi (Irun, Gipuzkoa. 1962) has directed the documentaries “Mariposas en el hierro” (2012), premiered in Zinemira, “Volar” (2017), also presented in San Sebastián, and “Ez, eskerrik asko. Gladysen leihoa” (2019), the medium-length film “Nigar franko egingo zuen aitak” (2014) and the short film “Las buenas empresas” (2015), co-directed with Nuria Casal.
Rosa Zufía (Tudela, Navarra. 1958) has worked in Euskal Telebista as editor-editor and directing cultural programs. Between 1999 and 2006 she was deputy news director. She also contributed to the creation of the international center of contemporary culture Tabakalera, in Donostia, as director of communication (2006-2011). In 2022 she was a jury of the RTVE-Otra Mirada award. Arnasa betean, emakume zinegileak is her first film.
