Sinopsis
Itziar, 8 years old, lives in two different worlds. One is the world of repression and sadness represented both by her parents, Basque nationalists scared and without illusions after the defeat in the Civil War, and by the nuns' school where she studies. The other world is the street, where Itziar truly feels comfortable and happy. But an illness causes Itziar to be sent to a boarding school far from her friends. Once back after several years, Itziar reunites with her people and friends. But everything has changed.
Arantxa Lazkano was born in Zarautz in 1949. For many years she worked as a teacher in an ikastola in Zarautz and it was not until the 1980s that she became professionally interested in cinema. In 1981 she started working in dubbing and in 1986 she studied at the Zine at Bideo Eskola in Andoain. In 1993 she made her first feature film, “Urte ilunak /Los años oscuros”.
