Saudade

This short documentary film tells the life story of Benita Navacerrada, recently honoured on International Women’s Day by the Government Delegation in Madrid. She is the daughter of Facundo Navacerrada Perdiguero, founder of the UGT workers union in San Sebastián de los Reyes in 1936. He was shot dead in front of the walls of the parish cemetery of Colmenar Viejo on May 24th, 1939. Recently, the second phase of the exhumations of the graves of victims of Francoist repression, have taken place. This is the first exhumation in the Community of Madrid of a mass grave. 91-year-old Benita waits patiently, day after day, for her father’s remains to be found.
