Sinopsis
In Mumbai, Nurse Prabha’s routine is troubled when she receives an unexpected gift from her estranged husband. Her younger roommate, Anu, tries in vain to find a spot in the city to be intimate with her boyfriend. A trip to a beach town allows them to find a space for their desires to manifest.
Payal Kapadia (Mumbai, 1986) studied Film Directing at the Indian Film and Television Institute. Her short films Afternoon Clouds and And What Is the Summer Saying premiered at the Cinéfondation and the Berlinale respectively. Her first feature film, A Night of Knowing Nothing, premiered at the 2021 Directors' Fortnight, where she won L'Œil d'Or for Best Documentary Debut, and became the first Indian director to compete at the Cannes Film Festival with The Light We Imagine in 2024, for which she won the Grand Jury Prize.
