This event will offer a place to explore the experiences of trans women through cinema, giving visibility to realities ignored for decades. With the screening of "Isleteñas" by Patri Rivero and the powerful "Monologue" by Pilar García Elegido, the complexities of trans identity are addressed from an intersectional perspective. At the end of the screening, there will be a discussion with the directors Patri Rivero and Pilar García Elegido. Alexandra Andino, Honduran activist and head of the trans group in Acción Triángulo and Violeta Ibarra, communicator and co-founder of Plumaje, a non-profit organization in Arizona, USA, will participate.

Patri Rivero
Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1981, she began writing in her teens. She trained as an actress in 2006 and as a Gestalt Therapist in 2014. She has been writing comedy monologues since 2015, using comedy to make visible and condemn social issues, especially about women. In 2019 she created the theatre project "Mujeres Diosas y Modernas" and in 2021 she recorded the short documentary "Isleteñas", focused on trans women. Currently, she combines theatre and cinema to make women and LGTBIQ+ realities visible, promoting spaces for transformation.

Pilar García Elegido
Madrid. Director, producer and co-screenwriter of the short documentary film "Confluencias" (1999 Goya Award for Best Short Documentary Film), "Positivo" and "Ventanas" (nominated in the same category in the 2000 and 2017 Goya Awards editions). Director of the documentary "Este" included in the feature film "Four Cardinal Points" (2002). From 2003 to 2019 she has been responsible for the film department of the Community of Madrid. She has coordinated festivals such as the Short Film Week and Animadrid, professional meetings, workshops and various film events. She writes narrative and blogs (www.lacalledelavida.com).

Alexandra Andino
Alexandra was born in Honduras, where she has been an activist since 2005 in the LGBT association ARCOIRIS. She currently lives in Madrid where she continues her work as an activist as part of the team of the trans area of the association Acción Triangulo.
