El alquimista impaciente (The Impatient Alchemist)

The corpse of a naked man tied to a bed appears in a roadside motel. He is an engineer at a nuclear power plant and shocking speculation has been unleashed in the press since he arrived at the motel accompanied by a beautiful young woman of whom not the slightest trace is found.

Patricia Ferreira (Madrid, 1958 – Madrid, 27th December 2023) began her career as a film critic and journalist at RTVE, where she went on to work as a director, screenwriter and director of films, broadcasts and cultural and documentary programmes. In 2000 she made her film debut with Sé quién eres, a work awarded with the Goya for best new director. She was a directing professor at the ECAM and at the ESCAC film schools and co-founder of CIMA (Spanish Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media). In 2024 she was posthumously awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts.
