Sinopsis
The 70s. Attracted by the lights of the city, Jeanne runs away from an orphanage located high in the mountains. She takes refuge in a film studio that she secretly explores at night. During the day, the film The Snow Queen is shot there, starring the enigmatic Cristina. Jeanne immediately falls under the spell of the beautiful and tormented star. Does Jeanne love the Snow Queen enough to make the sacrifice she demands?
Lucile Hadžihalilović spent her childhood in Morocco and later studied Art History and Film in Paris, at La Fémis. In the 90s she founded the production company Les Cinémas de la Zone with Gaspar Noé, with whom she collaborated on Carne, Seul contre tous and Enter the Void. In 1996 she directed La Bouche de Jean-Pierre, selected in Un Certain Regard at Cannes. Her first feature film, Innocence (2004), won the Best New Director Award at San Sebastián. In 2015 she premiered Evolution, which won awards in Toronto and San Sebastian. In 2022 she presented Earwig, based on the novel by Brian Catling, which also won the Special Jury Prize at the San Sebastian Festival.
