Mucha mierda
Sinopsis
No theatre in Madrid raises the curtain on February 4th, 1975. "Due to the non-appearance of the actors, the performance is suspended," read the posters hanging from its doors. It is the first day of a historic strike by actresses and actors that will paralyze all activity in the country for nine days. They demand what the law states: to take one day off a week. What begins as a labour claim becomes a political challenge when figures such as Sara Montiel and Lola Flores support the strike. Despite the attempt to muzzle the press, the news travels the world. Artists receive supporting telegrams from more than 80 countries, including names like Bernardo Bertolucci. The political-social brigade infiltrates among the strikers to control the ringleaders and dynamite the unusual union of an entire profession. On February 8th, the police arrests eight strikers. Four are imprisoned. They are accused of belonging to terrorist groups. Concha Velasco, Rocío Dúrcal, Ana Belén, Tina Sainz, Juan Diego and José Sacristán are just some of the artists who were on the front line risking their careers and even their freedom. This is the story, narrated by its protagonists, as a DOCUMENTARY FEATURE, that has never been told before.
