Sinopsis
Nico, a surly, spirited and impertinent boy brought up in a secular family, in a modern, technological and hyperconnected world, is forced to spend the summer in Sicily, as a guest of an old aunt, very religious and moody, who lives alone in an old palace full of legends and superstitions, completely out of time.
Margherita Spampinato was born in Palermo. She graduated in Arts and Humanities from La Sapienza University in Rome. She began working in cinema in Paris, where she lived for several years. Back in Rome, she worked as a script supervisor on more than 30 films. For several years, she also dedicated herself to casting work for films and TV series. As a director, she made two short films, Tommasina and Segreti. Gioia Mia is her first feature film.
