René, a lonely, insecure, and rebellious teenager, runs away from her suffocating parents, up to her neck in doubt. She embarks on a 2,000-kilometer road to Juárez, Mexico, where she feels something is calling her. What begins as an external journey soon becomes a deeply personal one, filled with revelations.

Director, producer, and screenwriter, Keny Márquez graduated from Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica, Mexico. Her filmography began with the short film Cruz (1997), which was nominated for an Ariel Award, followed by La mesa servida (2000) and Señas particulares (2006). Her feature film debut was Fecha de caducidad (Expiration date, 2011), which received recognition at festivals such as Morelia, Miami, Moscow, Vancouver, Valladolid, Trieste, Huelva, and Marseille. In this way, it became the most internationally awarded Mexican film in 2011. Asfixia (Suffocation, 2018), her second feature film, received seven Ariel Award nominations, along with a very successful run in festivals. She served as director of the FICG for four editions (2002-2005) and has been a member of the jury at various national and international festivals, as well as advisor for different cultural projects.
