Mi hermana Bertille (Qui brille au combat)

Bertille is the younger of the two Roussier sisters. Living with a severe disability and an uncertain diagnosis, her health keeps the family in a fragile balance. Madeleine and Gilles, her parents, and Marion, her older sister, try to build their lives around the demands of a day-to-day existence marked by uncertainty.

Born in 1994 in Marcoussis, France, Joséphine Japy is an actress and director. She began her film career at a very young age and rose to prominence with her performances in films such as Breathe (2014), directed by Mélanie Laurent, for which she received a César Award nomination for Most Promising Actress, and Summertime (2015), directed by Catherine Corsini. She has also worked in television and international productions.

Alongside her acting career, Japy has developed an interest in writing and directing. In 2025, she made the transition to feature filmmaking with My Sister Bertille, her directorial debut.

With a sensitive and deeply personal approach, Japy explores family bonds, the construction of identity and the need for emancipation in her films, combining intimacy and restraint with a particular focus on female characters.
