La buena hija

La buena hija

Sinopsis

Following her parents' separation, Carmela and her mother move into her grandmother's home. As she struggles to adjust to her new reality, Carmela longs to spend more time with her father, a visual artist she deeply admires and idolizes. His lingering presence forces three generations of women in the family to confront his influence and decide the future they deserve.

Júlia de Paz Solvas (Spain)

Júlia de Paz graduated in Film Directing from ESCAC. Her graduation short film, Ama, became the basis for her debut feature of the same name (2021), distributed by Filmax and awarded at the Málaga Film Festival. The film screened at festivals including San Sebastián, SEMINCI and Amsterdam, and received nominations at the 2022 Goya and Feroz Awards. In 2021, Variety named her one of the ten Spanish talents to watch. In 2024, she directed La buena hija, developed through the Spanish Film Academy's Residency Programme and based on her short film Harta, which won awards at festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, Málaga, Alcine and the Gaudí Awards, and was distributed by Marvin & Wayne. She co-directed the series The Long Shadows (Disney+, 2024) alongside Clara Roquet, and is the co-creator of Querer, directed by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa for Movistar+, which premiered in late 2024.
