#5 We present the varied programme of the 8th Festival edition’s Parallel Sections, which will be screened in 7 relevant collaborating venues in the centre of Madrid
In total, 22 films (Spanish and international) will be screened within the framework of the festival, which will be held between October 28th and November 9th.
A little less than a month before the start of the 8th edition of the Madrid Films by Women Festival, we give you a preview of the excellent programme, organised in collaboration with seven leading cultural entities in the city, which make the Parallel Sections possible, thanks to their valuable contribution. A total of 22 titles (20 feature films and 2 short films), most of them awarded at festivals around the world, and 7 round tables.
In addition, the public will be able to meet some of the directors and experts invited in the Parallel Sections (who join other professionals we invited to Madrid to participate in the Official Section and in the festival's training activities) to dialogue and share impressions with the attendees during the presentations and debates.
The collaborating venues and the number of films and panel discussions are:
- Casa de América / Latin American Women Directors: 3 feature films and the discussion "Meeting between female creators"
- Casa Árabe en Madrid / Arab female directors: 1 feature film
- Cinemateca Pedro Zerolo: 5 films (3 feature films and 2 short films) and 4 panel discussions
- Cines Verdi: 1 feature film
- Fundación Casa de México en España / Mexican female directors: 6 feature films
- Goethe-Institut Madrid / German directors... and one Spanish: 3 feature films and 2 round tables
- Sala Equis: 3 Feature films

The Madrid Films by Women Festival approaches the entire Spanish territory through our window in the "Library of Festivals" of FILMIN, where you can enjoy our program from the armchair of your home. A selection of 101 fiction, documentary and animation feature films directed by Spanish and international authors will be available online, of which 13 are from the current edition and 88 have been screened in some section of the festival throughout the last 7 editions of the Madrid Films by Women Festival.
