2024 PARALEL SECTIONS

We present the Parallel Sections programming of the 7th edition, to take place in 9 collaborating venues 

38 national and international films will be screened from October 30th to November 10th

Less than two weeks before the start of the Madrid Films by Women Festival’s 7th edition, we advance the excellent programming organised in collaboration with nine leading cultural entities in the city, which make the Parallel Sections possible.  38 films, most of them awarded in festivals all around the world, will be screened.  The public will be able to meet some of the directors and experts invited in the Parallel Sections, joining the 25 professionals invited to Madrid to participate in the Official Section and in the festival’s training activities, to dialogue and share impressions with the attendees during the presentations and debates.

The Collaborating Venues and the number of films to be screened in each one are:
 

1. Cinemateca Pedro Zerolo. Intersectionalities series:
   6 feature films and 5 short films.
2. Cines Verdi: 1 feature film
3. German Directors. Goethe-Institut Madrid. 2 feature films.
4. Contemporary Arab director. Casa Arabe Madrid. 1 feature film.
5. French directors. PresentFrench Cinema releases.
   Institut Francais de Madrid. 3 feature films.
6. Latin American directors. Casa de América.
   1 feature films, 5 short films.
7. Mexican Directors. Fundación Casa de México en España. 3 feature films.
8. Sala Equis.Young Filmmaker series. 6 feature films.

Additionally, you can also enjoy the Festival at home on the television channel 8madridTV, featuring 6 feature films, and on the Festival's online channel on Filmin, with 101 feature films.

This special event highlights the talent of Venezuelan women filmmakers, who have contributed with innovative narratives, and make visible the voices of women in science and trans reality through the stories and changes in society.

8MADRIDTVThe local television channel 8madrid TV joins the festival for another edition by programming a special series made up of 6 feature films. The films will be broadcast, in prime time, between October 31st and November 9th.
