Sinopsis
Fiction. On a dark stormy night, a young woman, a witness to her father's crime, disappears on an island, leaving her shoes on the cliff and her last will at home. Due to bad weather, her body has not yet been found. In the absence of the body, the case cannot be closed and is simply dismissed as suicide. Detective Hyun-soo heads to the island to investigate the girl's mysterious death.
Director Park Ji-wan received great recognition and won the Best Asian Short Film Award at the 10th Seoul International Women's Film Festival for High School Girls, a short film that captures the everyday lives of teenage girls in great detail. About her feature film debut The Day I Died: Unclosed Case, the director said: "I wanted to capture how the characters, who fight against difficulties and despair, try to do things and fight to survive. I hope that the public can sympathize with the message that we can influence the lives of strangers and mark the difference in their lives". Park creates a distinctive story with identifiable characters to highlight the person behind the case.
