Sinopsis
Documentary. Inside the mythical Barba Azul Cabaret in Mexico City there is a room that has become a safe place for the girls who work there: the women's bathroom. Every night "La Mami", in charge of the baths, offers them the warmth and advice they need to assimilate the challenge they are exposed to in the Ballroom. They will remind us that alliances are essential when the society we live in constantly judges and stigmatizes us.
Laura studied the Master in Creation Documentary at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. In 2011 in Mexico, Laura is part of the group of filmmakers Emergenciamx and is a founding partner of La Sandía Digital. She has made more than twenty short documentaries. In 2012 she directed the long documentary Son duros los días sin nada produced by La Sandía Digital. Her debut documentary, El Remolino, premiered at the Locarno Film Festival and has been awarded at a dozen festivals such as Documentamadrid, Planetfocus (Canada) or at the Saratovv International Film Festival (Russia).
