Sinopsis
During the Syrian conflict in Damascus, a shell rips a giant hole in the roof of the building where 14-year-old Zeina and her family live, being suddenly exposed to the outside world. Zeina discovers her first taste of freedom. As the bombs continue to fall, her father, Mutaz, is determined to stay in his home and not become a refugee. Zeina and her mother, Hala, will have to face a dilemma of whether to stay or leave.
French-born Syrian film director. She studied Theater Criticism at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Syria and filmmaking at the Saint Joseph University (IESAV) in Lebanon. Her films have been screened at several national and international festivals and have received international awards. Her first feature film, The Day I lost My Shadow (2018), won the Lion of The Future award for Best Debut Film at the 2018 Venice Film Festival.
