Sinopsis
Hara-Kiri tells the story of Nicole, a European woman who marries an Asian aristocratic professor. However, Nicole begins an affair with a Prince. After a tragedy, Nicole becomes obsessed with committing suicide in the traditional Japanese seppuku, ‘hara-kiri’, style.
(1894-1934) French film actress, director and producer. As an actress, she participated in multiple films such as Le Pont des enfers (1927) and L'Atlantide (1921). As a filmmaker she directed Hara-Kiri (1928) (together with Henri Debain), Le Roi des aulnes (1930) and Der Erlkönig (1930). She produced Jean Renoir’s Marquitta (1927,) Chantage (1927), Hara-Kiri (1928) and Le Roi des aulnes (1939).
