Sinopsis
Marisa, a retired doctor, decides to go to a refugee camp where, in her opinion, children need people exactly like her. Once there, it becomes clear that she has nothing to do with the others around. When she meets little Ahmed, the limits between the need of being a caregiver and the need to feel useful begin to blur.
Graduated from ESCAC. In 2009 she directed the short film Pablo, which was selected for, and received awards at, festivals such as Alcine, Gijón and the SGAE’s Spanish Version Contest. Her debut feature film María (y los otros) premiered at the 2016 San Sebastián Festival, won the Feroz Award for Best Actress for Bárbara Lennie’s performance, and received two Goya nominations. In 2017 she received the Pepón Coromina Award for her outstanding innovation, creativity and risk-taking. She has directed episodes of the television series Bienvenidos a la familia and Valeria. As a teacher, she also collaborates with the Faculty of Communication at Pompeu Fabra University and ESCAC.
