Sinopsis
In 2018, a group of nine women reported two of their former teachers at the ‘Aula de Teatro’ in Lleida for incidents of sexual abuse that had occured between 2001 and 2008, when they were teenagers. It was too late. Out of fear, shame, and the need to spend time processing what had occurred, the police statement came after the statute of limitations. What they didn’t know was that, even though the case was time barred, their testimonies were opening up a door through which, perhaps, not all was lost.
Born in Barcelona in 1960. She is the winner of 8 Goya awards. She has directed more than 25 short or feature films including the critically acclaimed My Life Without Me (2003) and The Secret Life of Words (2006), both of which earned Goya awards. Her film Elegy (2008) was chosen to represent Spain at the Oscars in the Best Foreign Film Category. Her latest films are The Bookshop, Elisa & Marcela, and It Snows in Benidorm. She is one of the most internationally renowned Spanish screenwriters and directors.
