Mr. Newlywed doesn't allow his wife to have a dog. However, her uncle, feeling sorry for his niece, promises to buy her one. Meanwhile, Wilkens and his wife, servants of the Newlyweds, must hide their secret child in a cabinet fearing their masters’ reaction. Then, Mrs. Newlywed's uncle does the same thing when he comes to his niece’s place with the new dog. The stories of the dog and the child will intermingle, generating a series of surprising situations that will affect the Newlyweds.

She shot more than 1,000 films, founded several production companies in France and the United States, and fought to be recognized worldwide as a director, actress, and producer. However, her achievements were attributed to her husband. Her filmography is very extensive and varied. In 1953 she was awarded the Légion d'honneur by the French government.
